To get a great job, you need to have a great job as well. The better and more professional your resume is, the thicker are the chances for you to land a job suiting your profile. You are already in a tough spot as you are new in the country and know nothing about the Canadian work culture but what can go even more wrong is having a wrong CV. So, in order to help you, we have come up with 5 resume building tips that will take you and your career a long way.

    1. A professional email address. Most of us made our email IDs when we were just teenagers and some of us are even embarrassed about the same. So, how can an employer like it when you, yourself don’t like it. So, make a new one and a more professional one.
    2. Contact details. This is what can make or break your chances so as soon as you change your email ID, make the changes in the CV as well.
    3. Reverse chronological order. Instead of writing about your first job first, write about your current job first and then work your way back.
    4. Keep it aligned to the left. The first thing that an HR does is skimming through your CV to look for important keyword and it is best when you keep it in the left.
    5. Use italics, bold and caps with strategy. Be consistent with your choices. If you are making a sub-heading bold, make all of them bold to maintain uniformity. This uniformity will make going through your CV easier for the recruiter.
