Many people have this query that once their Visa has come and everything else is sorted, how will they get their PR card once they reach Canada? Well, it is not such an intricate process as it looks like. This is something that you need to do post you land in the country. Generally, for a PR card to be processed, it takes nearly 45 days. It is counted after the IRCC receives a person’s complete application process who have their residency requirements fulfilled.

Now, this is an initial thing, let’s move to the later part. When you become a permanent resident, IRCC will send you a mail via which you will receive your PR card once you reach Canada. If you don’t have a mailing address as you are new to the country, then you can send across the same when you have a mailing address through their online tool within a time frame of 180 days of you becoming a PR.

If you fail to do this then the PR card will be cancelled and you will have to process it again with the same fee. If you don’t get your PR card within 6 weeks of your arrival then you should let the IRCC know.

While it is not a difficult process, as we told you earlier, you might still be confused about the intricacies of it and if that is the case then don’t shy away from reaching out to us and we will take care of everything from there.
