Canadian culture is completely different from ours. While some adjust to it faster, some take several cultural shocks to finally settle for what’s served on their platter. But if you are scared and wondering how you will adapt to the Canadian culture, then take a note of these 5 tips that will help you become one of them quickly and you bet, it is not going to be a painful thing to do.

    1. Be open-minded. Only experience and time will help you understand the culture of Canada and its people so be patient and reasonable while taking a note of their culture.
    2. Stop being judgmental. While kissing in public is a gesture of love in Canada, in India, it is still a taboo. So, don’t be judgmental because you are in a different country and they follow a different culture. What might be wrong for you, might be very, very right for them. So, keep your heart open to changes.
    3. Learn about the language and culture beforehand. The best thing to do is to read the books on their culture and watch their movies. They will help you understand them better and will also give you a deep insight into their culture.
    4. Maintain a journal. You will certainly transform over a period of time and maintaining a journal will help you do so. Indulge in their local activities and write down what new you learned every day. Read it once a week and you certainly will get a hold of it.
    5. Explore the country. Rather than spending time with just your Indian friends, make the locals as your new friends. If not the journal, then at least they can teach you a lot about the country, its culture, and its people.

It is very easy to adapt to a new culture, you just have to practice perseverance and be confident.
